My research focuses on developing a new ‘metastasis-on-a-chip’ model of breast cancer metastasis to bone. My microfluidic device will have specific considerations of how the microenvironment and associated mechanobiological factors affect the cells, in their behaviour and differentiation, and need to be accurately modelled.  This has the potential for future translation for use in personalised medicine and high-throughput drug screening platforms.
